FAQs
Please find the answers for the frequently asked questions here:
- Where do you get your products?
We source it directly from weavers & artisans in India. All our products are imported from India.
- Where is your stock located?
In Canada. We aim to serve all of Canada & the USA, but will also ship worldwide as possible.
- Do I have to pay import fees/duty for items shipped to the USA?
Not if the total price is less than $800 (all our products currently comes under this). This is as per Section 321 De Minimus Value Entry (NAFTA agreement). In that case the purchase is same as your purchase in USA.
- Do you ship free?
Yes, but conditions apply. Please see our Shipping Policy page here.
- Do you carry only Silk Sarees?
No, we specialize in all kinds of sarees, but love silk sarees a bit more. You will find other fabrics and products (jewellery, etc.) in our store. We'll keep adding more kinds.
- Are your silk sarees 'Silkmark Certified'?
Our pure silk sarees are 100% assured to be weaved out of pure silk. While most of the sarees come with a Silkmark certificate (those clearly identified in saree title or description), few of them don't. The reason being, we work with weavers directly, and some small scale weavers do not have the avenues to get their product certified. That doesn't mean the fabric is not pure silk. In any case, we stand behind each and every product we sell.
- What is silk?
Silk is a continuous protein filament secreted by silkworms. Natural sheen, light weight, excellent drape, warm in winter and cool in summer. Mulberry silk is the most commonly used silk. Tussar, Muga and Eri silk are India's wild silk (vanya silk).
